Cats. They make sense if you don't think about it.

Cats are incredible little beings but also, some of the most disregarded (and discarded) animals. These three little snuggle balls of love and chaos mean so much to me that I honestly can't imagine my life without them in it. It's because of them, that certain aspects of The Lemon Jar even came about.  If you have ever had a one on one with me on the topic of cats, you know how passionate I am about caring for our cat colonies and feeding our ferals.

Why?

Because I have a community garden. Yep! Without the neighborhood strays, the rodents would have surely destroyed our crops. So, for me, they're like a little army of garden protectors. (they work along side of the Storm Trooper... if you know, you know. If you don't you will) I've spent countless hours researching local TNR (trap, neuter, release) resources, collecting donations and supplies, and showing support to the local rescues and sanctuaries in my area. It's why I make shelters and safe spaces for them. Its why I feed them. They aren't a nuisance, they're incredibly valuable.

For me? It's cats. For you? Maybe it's dogs or birds. Whichever you prefer, they are all deserving of food and love. I understand that not everyone is in a position to bring an animal into your home and that's okay! If that's the case, I still encourage you to consider donating to your local shelter or rescue. They are always in need of things like blankets and pet food. Litter pans. Carriers. Pet beds. Old totes.

I heard a quote today that reminded me of my little crew (human and feline)...

"The real people in your life feel like home. Not because they want to fix you, but because they never want you to be anything other than yourself"

Adopt. Don't shop.
