New Season, who dis?

As the temps start to cool down and the days get shorter, it's time to get the fall and winter crops in and prep the ground for the greenhouse going up in a few short days. I've watched this garden transform into the bountiful food source it has become, feeding families all over the community, including my own. So many times, I've been out there, and children have walked by asking to pick some flowers. Each time, they would follow it, with "My mom is going to love these!" I think every time that happened, I got just as excited and happy as they did.

There was a time I would make the time to go out there a couple of times a day. Usually at least once in the morning with my coffee or tea and then again in the evening after work, to just sit with my thoughts, reflect on the day, and relax. As life is starting to slow down a bit, I am making the time to get back into that habit. It really did make a difference. Thank goodness I bought myself a new warm hoodie that feels like a hug every time I put it on. Those 40-degree mornings are brutal. (Yeah, yeah. I know. You don't even have to say it. I've lived here most of my life. I still HATE winter.)

Today I chose to share my special place with my sweet Mango. He is such a ball of energy, I feel like he might be able to get some of it out on small walks or short hikes. He did really well for his first time out with his new harness and honestly, I really enjoyed having him out there with me. Princess never did like to go outside, and Ashe has shied away from it recently. The new season changing noises and douche bags flying up and down the streets on dirt bikes (at all hours on full throttle) scare her. She'd probably go out in the backpack, but I think the days of our walks are over, unfortunately.

After the long weekend, it's time to go back to work. I took a nice, much needed, step away from everything and took some time for me (and to unplug). As much as I always enjoy time for myself, I do look forward to getting back into my normal routine. I have big moves to work on and a lot of great ideas in motion. Continued momentum and empires being built. As my Favorite would say, 'One brick at a time".
